And it wasn’t without some worry.
See, I booked this flight on United Airlines — before my well-documented debacle involving said airlines and Continental Airlines, which got us to Las Vegas from Honolulu in 24 hours — so I was concerned.
Really concerned.
I wasn’t sure if we’d even leave the ground.
But rest assured, I got here — via Chicago — without any problems. Even the on-board entertainment worked.
After a much-needed nap, we’re going to walk through this college town, already taking on its wintry persona. It’s a nippy 34 degrees today — and it’ll likely get colder as the weeks go on.
So check back here and on Twitter (@thedailydish) — and often. I’ll be blogging and tweeting during this three-city adventure!

I think it’s time for a brat, you betcha
You betcha! I gotta use that phrase while I’m here!
Glad to hear you made it there safe. Find a warm fireplace to hag out by. it’s cold
I found a fireplace — but it was occupied. Damn. So I’m nursing a hot chocolate and hoping the sun comes out. Soon.
Nice picture! Lake Monona or Lake Mendota? Watch out for the deer on the roads and the hunters in the woods.
Whoops! I didn’t ID the lake! That’s Lake Mendota. Beautiful, huh?
Nap…wink wink nudge nudge
LOL. No, it was truly a nap. Trust me.
Cat,
Welcome back to the Midwest! I am happy to have you here and hope that you live it up in Wisconsin (if there is such a thing). Let me know when you will be in Chicago next week, I am off work the whole week and the Cuz would love to meet you in person.
In the meantime, you two kids behave yourselves!
Hot chocolate? That’s it? No Irish Cream in that? 🙂
