Simply Ono lunch wagon won first place in the pork challenge at yesterday’s Eat The Street in Kakaako. The reason: succulent Okinawan shoyu pork and two strips of dark chocolate-covered bacon that took the dish over the top.

quote of the day: “you got chocolate in my plate lunch”………etc. etc.
Who said that……..?
damn… that looks so good it is about all I can say.
It was pretty damn good. 🙂
It looks like a party on a plate, a party that my cardiologist has forbidden me from attending. This growing old sensibly is not what I expected. “All things in moderation, including moderation.” (Oscar Wilde)
Why yes, I would like another serving of bacon covered with Dark chocolate.
I have to say, that chocolate-covered bacon was outstanding. I’m STILL thinking about it!
The Okinawan Shoyu Pork is a regular menu item at Simply Ono, but not in this configuration. Will lobby for them to offer chocolate bacon as a side from now on lol.
Good call! 🙂
…..”Who said that?”–>the guys that came up with that tag line for reeses Peanut Butter cups. “U got chocolate in my peanut butter”, and vice versa. How else, but by accident, could someone come up with the idea of chocolate covered bacon? Or maybe there was a chocolate fon-du party late one night, with lots of adult beverages….”hey….lets dip some bacon”….(honey,…hide the goldfish)….
all i can say about that plate is “wow”.
simply ono is already delicious… looks like they just outdid themselves.
