It’s easy to take what we have for granted.
We do it all the time.
In fact, we do it so often, there’s a national holiday to remember to be grateful.
Thanksgiving.
Forget this over-hyped meal shared between the Pilgrims and the Indians. Thanksgiving has turned into a commercialized holiday where families sit around a dinner table — maybe for the first time that year — to partake in a 15-pound turkey and pass around bowls of mashed potatoes and candied yams.
But it’s also a time when we can look around at our life — at the stack of bills on the table or the laundry piling up in the bathroom — and say, “Hmm, this isn’t so bad.”
So here are some — just some! — things I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving.
And yes, I’m thankful for you, too!
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving Cat!
happy tgiving! thnku for this warm, personal reminder abt what this day is abt before i start stressing abt cooking my turkey and stuffing. which i am grateful to have as a source of stress. we are indeed v lucky.
i can’t cook, but i can wash dishes and scoop ice cream.hey, i think i saw some hot fudge in the fridge, and i know there’s a half gallon of DoubleRainbow French Vanilla. an introduction is in order.
This was a joy to read. It must have been a wonderful experience to create it.
Y’know Cat, it’s true… We do have a lot to be thankful for… so here’s a lil’ poem I just thought up…
What I am Thankful For
are the bills upon my table
they remind me that I have things
like water, electricity and digital cable
What I am Thankful For
is laundry waiting to be washed
and dirty dishes in the sink
means that I’ve got clothes on my back
and enough food and drink.
What I am Thankful For
is coming home tired late at night
means that I have a job
that I work hard at with all my might
But what I am MOST Thankful For
is the laughter and smile
of friends like you, both near and far,
who make my life worthwhile.
