And the winner is…

So after much debate, we decided on the…

White Chantilly cake from Larry’s Bakery!

(To be honest, we got a small cake and a box of assorted goodies!)

I learned a few new things about Chantilly last night.

Traditionally, creme Chantilly is just a fancy way of saying whipped cream. I had always assumed it had a butterscotch flavor, a la the top of a Cocoa Puff from Liliha Bakery. I was wrong. This frosting was delicate and creamy — and it tasted just like sweetened condensed milk. Divine!

So that’s what we decided on! Thanks for all of your suggestions and birthday wishes!

      I do! It’s just I’m saving pies for… the quest. 🙂

Oooh, I could drink condensed milk. Wait, I HAVE…
It’s been years since I last ate chantilly cake. Great choice! *drool*

I find it ironic that the first (or second) thing people associate with Hawaii doesn’t appear on it. 😀

I thought it would be too sweet — but it wasn’t. And who am I kidding — I LOVE SWEET!

Speaking of Liliha Bakery Coco Puffs, did you know they make Coco Puff birthday cakes? Yuppers… what they do is take individual Coco Puffs and butt them next to each other to form a standard baker’s pan sized “cake”, ala Coco Puffs. Then they cover them generously with a thick layer of their awesome Chantilly frosting, finished by whatever message you want inscribed with colored frosting. I also did a review on that if you Google “Liliha Bakery’s Coco Puff Cake”. Good stuff!
