We had spent most of the day at the Palace of Versailles and I was beat.
That’s a lot of walking, even for someone with dogs!
But I had one more surprise in store, one that wasn’t going to take a whole ton of effort — well, unless the elevator was out of commission.
The plan was to picnic outside the iconic Eiffel Tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris, then head to the observatory deck to watch the sunset and see the tower light up.
Sounded like a plan to me.
I have a love affair with the Tour Eiffel. No matter how many times I see it — from the metro, as I walk the streets — it still takes my breath away.
So spending the evening here, despite my aching feet, wasn’t going to be a problem.
Here’s what that magical night looked like:

Hi Cat! So romantic! Love the night picture of the tower!
I don’t know why, but having been there before, I find Paris absolutely magical.
<——————– Oh yeah, check out my Gravatar. 🙂
LOVE IT 🙂
CAT: The city of lights…hope you guys also bought a bouteille of vin!
Someone recommended your blog to me and I can see why. What a lot of fun! We were in Paris many years ago and remember our surprise at how delicious those French baguettes were. I think that’s when we first tried escargot too. That’s a gorgeous photo of the tower.
Thanks for stopping by! I, too, can’t believe how a simple baguette could taste so good. Now I understand why people are obsessed with French breads!
Hello Cat, awesome!
Love the views, reminds me in some ways of Lyon. Hope you take a river tour and some lovely pics there. OK, the first pick had me rolling on the floor. What is Derek implying here? Takes two hands to handle a whopper? OK, enough bad humor!
LOL re: Derek.
And I really need to see more of France. I’ve only gone down as far south as Avignon…
