#CatTravels: Touring campus (with food)

By Catherine Toth Fox • November 21, 2011 • #CatTravels, Food

I got up on Sunday morning and thought my bones were freezing.

It wasn’t quite 30 degrees — and the skies were threatening some kind of natural disaster. But we had things to do — namely, things to eat — and I was determined to get it all done.

It turned out to be a great day for a stroll through campus, as it was uncrowded and mellow and peaceful. And since a lot of students have left to enjoy the Thanksgiving break, even the coffee shops and restaurants weren’t as bad as I had anticipated on a Sunday.

So here’s what we saw and, of course, ate:

Sundays are a pretty mellow day, even at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. So we decided to walk around this 935-acre campus. (OK, we didn't walk the entire length of campus, but we managed to see most of the major sites.)

I didn’t know that! I don’t even see many cranberries on the menus… but I’ll look next time!
