Van Halen (at least in the David Lee Roth days), used to have it in their contract whenever they played a venue there was to be a large bowl of M&Ms in their dressing room with ALL the brown M&Ms removed.
old story. maybe urban legend. But Van Halen, back in the hey-day….the David Lee Roth hey-day, had it in their tour rider that they wanted M&M’s backstage but please remove all the green ones. Not sure the reason, maybe just because they could. And since then every act has did the ol’ one-up-manship thing on the outrageous tour demand. I just wrote “Beeber” ’cause it sounded like the thing to say at the time.hehe. (the Smoking Gun site has a huge section on all these “unique” demands from way back when till now.All genres of acts.A good read.)
cool. that makes one more bio i gotta read. want to read Sammy Hagar’s. But after checking out that link, might as well start with D.L.R. , then Sammy…..keep it in order. ANd have some Cabo Wabo.
Brown goes back to the beginning, OK well before I was born, but they seem to fit so naturally. I am still trying to get used to the blue ones. They’ve ony been around since the mid-90s, and somehow they seem like the “new neighbors” who have lived next door for a decade.
A group of M&Ms without brown is like a bowling ball without a liquid center.
I tried the dark chocolate M&Ms a couple of times and was disappointed because they tasted exactly like the mild chocolate M&Ms.
Van Halen sucks saw them two times once with Sammy and the other with a different joker but both times not so good. Maybe with Roth would have been good in the eighties.

No kidding! That’s insane. I don’t get how you can be so rich yet so myopic.
