Lots has happened.
I wound up in the hospital — without my laptop. And when I was finally able to blog, I couldn’t.
And I didn’t get to read all of your messages and comments until now.
thankyouthankyouthankyou for all your kind words, your encouragement, your well wishes, your stories. And it was nice to see some new names in the mix! It all meant a lot to me.
So here’s the status: I’m healing on schedule. My stitches (above) — or sutures, rather — are eventually going to fall off. But, according to my surgeon, Dr. Fong-Liang Fan, I won’t be able to run, surf, hike, golf, luge or do anything remotely active for another week or two. (Likely two.)
He did say, though, that I could walk. So watch out pavement! I’ll be walking!
Since my blog went down for a few days, it gave me some time to think about what I really want to do with this.
I asked for suggestions on Facebook and Twitter and got a couple of interesting ideas.
Some said I should schedule topics for each day. Others said I should move toward microblogging (like Tumblr). And still others suggested I focus solely on food.
I’m actually not sure what I’m going to do — but I’m still open to suggestions.
I’m meeting with my tech friend on Thursday and we’re going to brainstorm.
And I’m not driving to meet him, either.
So please post your suggestions here! You know better than me what you want!

I like your blog the way it is 🙂 Your topics are always fun and entertaining (well, except for the ones where you’re sick, someone else is sick, or you’re having your appendix removed). I like the stories of your dogs, your favorite places to eat, your travels and the pictures of Hawaii are always great, too. My only suggestion would be to keep blogging! 🙂
Hello Cat! I’m glad that you are healing up well. I think you should do a little of everything like what you are doing now. It keeps it very interesting!
That looks almost exactly like my hernia operation sutures. 🙂
Hey Cat … luv it! … you post everything!!! … haha … I kinda wished they had given you your appendix … I bet I’d be grossing out over it now … can’t even imagine what it looked like …
… but glad you’re back … literally with your blog site too …
… and whatever you decide to do … I’d be happy with … it’s actually a treat for us to have bloggers like you …
… as for what I like??? … I got too much Hawaii in me … so I like the pot luck … the mixed plate … you know, a little of everything …
KEEP IT UP! “If it ain’t broken, no need fixum.” Want U back in da wata, so heal nicely.
Blog ideas:
1) Lot of our brand awareness for our jeans comes from Bloggers writing about our product. We are forever sending free samples to them so they will wear them and write about them.
2) From time to time we will pay a well known blogger to wear our stuff to trade shows
3) You could be the host blogger and have people submit stuff for yu to publish under a guest blogger section
4) You could set up your own classes in how to write, make it an online $69 course like the community colleges do.
5) Have downloadable recipes like a friend of mine here does.
6) Travel more and write about it
All for now. And that scar looks like it hurts like a __________ .
Yeah-just keep it the same! Love hearing whatever is interesting to you today. Sometimes blogs get weary when they get too predictable. Hate Talking Tuesday, Wordless Wednesday, Thinking Thursday, etc.!
Personally I like what yoou are doing now. I enjoy the mixed bag and really enjoy when you take your little trips and write about them. Also I enjoy Fuud Friday.
Count me in as yet another who likes your blog just the way it is. It’s a good mix. Can’t think of anything that I’d want to read less of.
Late addition ….. I enjoy the current mix … no need to change the format.
Very late to the game, not sure why I didn’t get any of your post-surgery posts until now….
What’s wrong with your current format? I enjoy the mix of your personal experiences, especially fuud, as well as the topics you bring up for discussion, particularly since they have the local angle.
