Hawaii’s food trucks will go prime time on an upcoming episode of the Cooking Channel’s Eat Street, which is shooting on Oahu this week.
The show — a self-described “lip-smacking celebration of North America’s tastiest, messiest and most irresistible street food” — will feature four of my favorite trucks through Thursday: Camille’s on Wheels (Monday), FlipT Out Eats (Tuesday), Opal Thai (Wednesday) and Pacific Soul (Thursday).
The show wants fans — real fans! — to come out and support the trucks by attending the shooting, scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. I’ll be the featured blogger on Wednesday at Opal — eating my favorite pad Thai noodles, of course — so head out to Haleiwa if you can!
And don’t forget Eat The Street is this Friday from 4 to 9 p.m. in Kakaako!
It should be Food Truck Week!

wow. impressive. A star is born….. Do you slurp your noodles or roll them with a fork & spoon(Italian style)?…..And, if u do use a fork, will u get crushed, like Trump did, when using a fork to eat pizza?……stay tuned to find out!
Oh, boy!
You’re on a roll with HVCB projects this month. So stoked we were able to work with Eat Street and get them out here. Great team and a good show for Hawaii. See you Wednesday Cat!
See you there! I’m craving pad Thai already!
This will be my first Opal Thai experience. Stopped by there a couple weeks ago and they were on vacation. Will save my appetite. 🙂
CAT: Been to a couple of Eat the Street events and my biggest complaint is that most if not all the trucks don’t have a sampler size. If that were the case, more people could eat their stuff rather than bringing a gazillion friends so you can sample each others stuff. The samplers would make the lines go faster and be at less than a full meal price. You need to get these truckers to wise up….you know how the chefs do it at their food fests…samplers to spread the experience.
I agree. I think the trucks are able to serve whatever they want. I know the event organizer has suggested sample sizes, but it’s up to each truck to set its menu. But I totally agree with you.
