Cat Chat: Cheap Eats

By Catherine Toth Fox • March 15, 2012 • Food, Videos

Well, it’s official.

I’m the new co-host of “Cheap Eats,” which airs every Wednesday on KFVE the Home Team.

We taped our first segment awhile back, featuring Sweet E’s Cafe in Kilohana Square. (Read my review here.) The episode aired yesterday on KFVE.

It’s one of my favorite spots to eat breakfast — particularly the corned beef hash eggs Benedict and stuffed French toast — and it was an easy suggestion to co-host Guy Hagi (@GuyHagi), who loves to try new breakfast spots with his (awesome) wife, Kim Gennaula, and their kids.

I decided to take a quick video of my first “Cheap Eats” shoot, a little behind-the-scenes peek.

I think I’m going to have to start running…

Saw it last night on KFVE. Good fun, good food. I’ll check that place for breakfast.

I didn’t get to see it, but I heard I need to pump up my energy. I’ll drink a Monster right before. Scary!

I saw the segment last night. You’re really good for the part. I suppose we can expect W&M, Rainbow’s, Alicia’s etc. Go for it!

Great job, Cat! I can tell you I’m a much bigger Cat fan than Augie fan. Plus with all your FUUD posts, it makes so much sense for you to be co-hosting with Hagi. Looking forward to all the yummy places you two will share with us.

Cool.. Good job on the KFVE channel w/Hagi. Those are HUGE servings.

Nice start Cat! Although I thought you did a really good job at the Rainbow Drive-In cheap eats as well. That show was a good example of too much Augie! The show should be focus on the food not his bit. Look forward to more shows.

CAT: Don’t forget what Mom says, “Stop touching your hair!” I know it’s a nervous thing but it don’t work when featuring fuud!
