Saturday was the only day Derek and I had completely to ourselves.
He didn’t have to attend any seminars; I had nothing planned.
So we caught the bus and headed straight to Pike Place Market, the popular public market overlooking the Elliott Bay waterfront.
This market opened in 1907 and now boasts hundreds of small businesses, craftsmen, merchants, artists, farmers and fishermen. With more than 10 million people visiting this market a yet, it’s become one of Seattle’s most popular tourist destinations.
So of course we had to go, too!
Here’s what our day at the waterfront — and we did way more than eat clam chowder! — looked like:
Pike Place Market

Very nice day! Kind of an odd thing though, Green River is a river south of town. It was made famous by Gary Ridgeway. for around 50 really bad reasons. So maybe a company in Chicago bought Green River from some local yocal.
Only been gone 11 years and they built a big Ferris Wheel. Ver cool, love to ride on those things. The London Eye I think is bigger and so is the one in Japan west of Tokyo, Osaka I think.
Portland also has a Flying Pie, the original. You guys should try it.
OOh, I have RN74 bookmarked – I’d like to check them out for happy hour along with the Great Wheel – that is new since the last time I’ve been to Seattle. Do you think it’s worth it? As many times as I’ve been to the city, I’ve still never been to the top of the needle, everyone tells me the view from Alki Beach is so much better – I can’t compare but that view is stunning!
