On my third and final full day in Fukuoka, I just wanted to wander around the area.
There are so many things to do in this place, I’m sure it would amaze you. From visiting shrines and castles to shopping at some of liveliest malls, there’s no way you can get bored here — and there are always reasons to come back.
Melissa and I met up with her running friends from Honolulu — this meant we’d be doing a lot of walking! — to tour around the city. So she had planned for us to head to Fukuoka Tower, shop at Canal City Hakata, and, of course, eat ramen.
Whatever happened in the meantime, well, happened.
And it did.
Here’s what our third — and my last — day in Fukuoka looked like:

you guys did so much. we’re usually driving all over kyushu, so i haven’t spent that much time in Fukuoka City. I have a list of things to do next time, though.
have fun i Kyoto and Tokyo (can’t wait for pics).

Great pixs, I have to go to Fukuoka the next trip to Japan. Any of you speak or read Japanese?
Not really. I BARELY speak, but I’ve been managing!
When we travel to Japan, because my wife and I can’t speak or read Japanese we look for restaurants with either menus in english or menus with pictures.
when we go, I can read the katakana and hiragana and my wife can sort of read the kanji (she reads chinese). between the two of us and my rudimentary vocabulary, we can fumble our way through signs and sort of figure out what’s going on.
