You wait in airports, you stand in security lines, you drive for miles. There’s nothing more miserable.
But there’s also nothing more inspiring and exciting and completely exhilarating, either. Which is why we endure the pain and suffering and the kid kicking the back of your airplane seat. Because we know the pleasures traveling can bring.
And in my case, that pleasure usually comes served on a plate.
The best part of traveling, for me, is usually the food.
I love trying new restaurants, sampling new cuisines — it’s a fun way to learn about a new city.
On this last trip, I spent three weeks in four states. So imagine all the food I ate!
Here are some of my noshing highlights in Madison, Chicago and Las Vegas. (I didn’t eat much in Arizona.)

Hello Cat! I agree with you, the fuud is the best part.
Food is always the best part of traveling! Except to London. The food there wasn’t that good… LOL
You must have spent a fortune on fuud.
Well, I saved on accommodations by staying with friends, so we could splurge!
Hey Cat: … welcome back??? … are you back??? … and the trip lasted 3 weeks??? … I didn’t even realize that you were gone that long … I guess with your blog, it never seems like you left …
… anyway, you always amaze me at how much fuud you can put away … impressive!!! …
When my friend and I went to Madison, we were staying at the new Ogg Hall near the Kohl Center. We got in around 2 pm, and we wanted something to eat. Dotty’s Dumpling Dowry is only a couple blocks away, so we decided to walk over and get a burger. Wow … that was one of the best burgers I ever ate. I just looked up the menu and I even remember what burger I got—the Runnelstone. There’s something about Wisconsin cheddar cheese that is different from any other, and combined with that English garlic sauce … Yum!
Did you get to go to L’Etoile? I know you said it was on your list, but I didn’t see any pictures.
