CAT: Okay den, was da wine “not too sweet, not too rancid, but jes right….” Oenology is a wonderful pursuit. Go fo eet!
@Annoddah_Dave Man, if I start sounding like Aunty Marialani, stop me!
the bong was pretty neat. volatize yer buds
i love my aerator! makes cheap wines palatable, mellows them out. also my vacuum stopper thingie. like that white wine chiller too, no mess or fuss. good tips!
@nonstopmari The Aerator is the BEST thing invented for a freshly opened bottle of wine that hasn’t had time to stand or hasn’t been decanted. My wino buds swear by it.
They turned their friends on by having them compare two glasses of the same wine from the same bottle side by side. One pour was straight from the bottle and one pour was thru an Aerator. Big difference in taste between the two glasses!
@harrycovair that’s how i was sold on mine. made a bad btl much more smooth and rounded.
Having taken wine classes and waited on wine snobs in college, I had to learn to open wine bottles expertly with the single-handed wine corkscrew like you guys had opened and extended on the table. I always turned my nose up at fancier wine opener like the butterfly opener, and then the double sword type one opting instead for my simple corkscrew. But then a friend gave me this for Christmas.

(*at the time it was sold at Sharper Image, but not sure where now)
It has NEVER failed to get a cork out cleanly, regardless of how brittle it is. It sure taught me a lesson not to knock things before I give them a try, because I didn’t use it for a whole year! It was only when I couldn’t find my other wine opener did I give it a try!
I love the stoppers! If I open a bottle at home and can’t finish (which is always), it is a great way to save the wine.
Made me think of George Carlin’s favorite radio station, W-I-N-O wonderful WINO! It also made me think of that great movie when the waiter obviously a bit bemused by the wine selection asking smugly, ‘wanna sniff the bottle cap?’ But seriously, 3 wine shows out of 11, maybe you should call the segment ‘Nonstoppour.’ 🙂 Lately real fond of Winking Owl at Aldi, $3.00 a bottle and a really tasty Shiraz… that and a cold Bud Light.
@dbjack I know… It’s a lot of wine… And I’m seriously not a wine-drinker!
@Cat @dbjack Had a wine drinking phase a long while back, but now its a beer with friends on occasion. any chance you can get some 50 guys on Cat Chat? That would be very cool!
Hello Cat!
Great ideas for Wine-o’s.
Maybe you can get create another video for the different wine stemware. A Burgundy, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and a dessert wine all require different shaped drinking glasses.
A wine snob bud will even carry a set of glasses with him when he goes to a function just to make sure the wine is served in the correct type of stemware. If I have to I’ll drink out of a plastic cup but the proper stemware does make a difference.
