Those movies you can see over and over

By Catherine Toth Fox • September 17, 2012 • Musings, The Daily Dish

For the first time in a long time, I had nothing to do on Saturday night.
And I loved it.

So I snapped on the TV and decided to watch whatever was one. Luckily, TNT was showing the entire Bourne Trilogy, spy-action movies based on the novels by Robert Ludlum.

Even though I had seen these movies a gazillion times, I can sit there and watch them all over again.

There are movies like that, the ones you can see over and over again, no problem. And it’s not because they’re award-winning, well-written works of cinematic art.

They’re just easy to watch — even if you know the ending.

(Once, my girlfriend and I saw “The Rock” seven times in a theater. But I digress.)

Here’s my list of movies I can watch all the time:

• Any of the Bourne Trilogy movies
• “Pride and Prejudice” (any version)
• “Legally Blonde”
• “The Princess Bride”
• Any of the Ocean’s 11 movies
• “Chocolat”
• “You’ve Got Mail”
• “The Devil Wears Prada”
• “Wedding Crashers”
• “Despicable Me”
• “Bridget Jones’s Diary”

What’s on your list?

Many of my favorite movies are not movies I enjoy watching repeatedly, but some are.

The Fifth Element (despite Chris Tucker’s ultra-annoying Ruby Rhod character)
Midnight Run (DeNiro’s best comedy yet)
Groundhog Day (even though you might think this would be the worst re-watchable movie ever)

    • Reply FattyMcButterpants September 17, 2012 at 2:35 pm

Grodin was excellent in Midnight Run
