Postcards: Goodnight, Madison

By Catherine Toth Fox • August 30, 2011 • Postcards

It was rainy today in Madison, Wisc. But it certainly cleared up tonight. By Wednesday the temperatures are supposed to hit 92 degrees, with sunny skies and light winds. Nice day for a bike ride to campus.

All’s quiet on the western front…. here’s an idea. They took a defunt railroad tracks line and turned it into a bike trail. Goes for maybe like 60 miles, through very beautiful country. Starts/stops in Madison, depending on your perspective, and goes East. nt sure the name,i’ll find out. i’m thinking “The Glacier Trail”, or something like that.

That would be cool, actually. I’ll tweet the governor. 🙂

Close. its called “Glacial Drumlin State Trail”. Can access it in Cottage Grove, which is 3 miles east of Madison. Goes for 51 miles(east) to Waukesha, which is just outside of Milwaukee.18 miles or so is paved, the rest is crushed compact gravel. Sounds awesome, especially this time of year.
