I had my reservations about traveling to Kauai to hike the Napali Coast.
There was already high-surf advisories posted for north-facing shores. And then there was that little storm that blew through the Garden Isle and hit Oahu and Maui.
Maybe hiking wasn’t the best idea.
Turns out, there were blues skies over most of the island when I arrived yesterday. In fact, the storm that blew through didn’t hit Kauai nearly as hard as it hit other parts of the island chain. So this wound up being the best place to lounge by the beach — and, as it were, hike.
So here’s what my first half-day on Kauai looked like:

From picture 21 on I got so hungry had to go downstairs and get some cheese cake and a glass of milk. Loved it when I went to Kauai and now I remember why. It was a great time.
