great start to the trip. my second favorite city (outside of hawaii) behind Tokyo and my favorite city to just hang out in. how was the traffic? we did the shuttle thing once, on our first trip there, then decided that rush hour traffic sucks and the subway was a better option from the airport.

you gotta try the halal cart someone posted about in your other post. make sure you go after ten pm, though. different crew of guys run the cart late at night.

Did you really bring a musubi to NYC? We have a couple of Hawaiian / plate lunch places.

Been a couple of years since I was in the city, no longer have in-laws there, but I do like the place. This is a good time of year to be there. How can you not love a city where if you really want them you can find calzones at 4 am. With the 3 airports you can go anywhere for a reasonable price…. start spreading the news…

Hey Cat … thanks for the highlights … makes me realize my travel resume is so limited … *sigh* …

… I think I’d get lost in that jungle of a city …

Love your pics. New York today is so much safer than it was 25 years ago. Back then Times Square/42nd street looked like a ghost town and real creepy. Now it’s like Disneyland for adults. Much more safer to get around on the subway at night to get to all the great food in the city.

FYI. Proper name for Grand Central is Grand Central Terminal not Station.
